Day 27 of Iranian Revolution

*Day 27 of Revolution in Iran*

Brave lawyers from the Iranian Bar Association chanting “Zan Zendegi Azadi” (“Woman Life Freedom”) — the slogan of the revolution — in front of Tehran’s judiciary building.

Dozens of lawyers have been kidnapped and jailed over the past month for the crime of attempting to REPRESENT their clients.

This is not even new: Legendary Iranian human rights lawyer Nasrin Sotoudeh is currently serving a 33-year (!) prison sentence for representing political prisoners after the 2009 uprising, and fighting the Iranian government’s policy to apply capital punishment to minors.

Does anyone have contacts at the American Bar Association to help issue a statement in support of brave Iranian lawyers?
