An accidental epiphany —
Issa is finally old enough that he doesn’t want to go to sleep at nights.
So we stumbled into this new tradition: After his last book, he sits on my lap, and I recount for him everything we did that day: “We woke up today, we played with dinosaurs, you ate strawberries and mommy made mini pancakes for breakfast, ….”
This takes about 10 minutes, but it always makes me realize just how many awesome things we get to do, every single day.
The fact that we wake up; eat together; play together; go our separate ways and then come back together; eat together again; play together again; and sleep together again.
We do so much, every single day; we just don’t take a few minutes to appreciate it
A 10-minute, heart-warming exercise in gratitude, every night.
Thank you, life ❤️
