Stop telling people if they “just put their minds to it” or “change their attitude,” they’ll find success.
It’s a common fallacy pushed by “successful” people. (“I did it, you can do it too!”)
Hard work, discipline, good attitude, smart decisions are OF COURSE necessary for success.
They’re necessary, but not sufficient.
You also need good external environment; equity; fairness; justice; chances; luck.
The “put your mind to it” advice, while helpful and necessary, must be put in the context of what’s real.
So we can all continue working on fixing and improving what’s real.
Success is a family / community / society outcome, not just a personal one!
