One of the things that really struck me when I was learning about parenting was Jean Piaget’s theory of childhood development.

Piaget observed that kids learn to do something by copying it first, then deducing the rules later — not the other way around.

I can’t teach my kid by *telling* him to do good. The best way I can teach him that is by *doing* good myself.

So when the opportunity came up to volunteer at Issa’s daycare today for “Snow Day,” I couldn’t pass it up.

I wanted him to see, me, there.
