Work is, ultimately, NOT about work. It‘s just one other way to, one other vehicle to, express yourself and your values through.
Years ago, my wonderful mentor Laura Stein told me not to separate work and life. “Instead,” she said, “align them both towards a higher purpose.”
When a dancer dances, or a singer sings, the joy they experience is not in the surface-level physical movements, or surface-level sound waves.
The joy is in the *self-expression.*
Don’t just do your work … express yourself, and your values, through it.
