Are we more equipped to handle failure, than success?
I was thinking that people fail more often than they succeed.
There are many things in life that we want, but don't achieve. On top of that, people deal with wars, oppression, heartbreaking disasters -- and usually, in those times exactly, the most beautiful parts of the human spirit shine.
So, we generally know how to handle failure -- we do it all the time, and often gracefully too.
But, success?
Look around you: How many people succeed and immediately forget about human values? Sadly, too many leaders (of countries, and companies) fall in that category.
Looking back at my own life, it was with success that I struggled the most: Not knowing how to manage money once I started making it; how to accept love once I started receiving it; how to use power once I started accumulating it.
The times my life fell apart the most, were during successful times -- not the painful times.
Be on the lookout for success, more than failure: It may be a harder one to deal with.
